Byrant’s Association With Los Angeles Lakers Brought Him Laurels Throughout His Career

Kobe Bean Bryant began his career as a professional basketball player for the US right after high school when he joined the National Basketball Association (NBA). This was a surprise for many because he had good grades and a good SAT score.  He has been a part of the Los Angeles Lakers team ever since. He has claimed five wins in NBA Championships.

He was only 19 years old when he was credited with the honor of All-Star. With Bryant's help, the team got to win three NBA championships in a sequence. Byrant's contributions got the team to be voted first-team all-NBA from 2002-04. He bagged several endorsements like Adidas and Sprite.

The 2009 NBA Finals saw the Lakers at the top of the score-board after beating the Orlando Magic. The year 2010 saw Byrant's team winning their second championship by treading over the Celtics.

Byrant brought the gold for his country in the Olympic Games held in Beijing in 2008 as well as those held in London in 2012. Among his teammates were Kevin Durant, LeBron James and several other players.

Brant's skills with the ball on the basketball court gave him the nickname, 'Black Mamba'. This is a snake infamous for its ability to strike with an accuracy of 99 per cent. It strikes the target with a good speed and in quick succession.

Byrant married Vanessa Laine in November 1999. They had their first child two years later in 2001, and this was when the estrangement between Byrant and his parents as a result of his marriage to a woman who did not belong to the same race ended.
