Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan

If Michael Jackson is the MJ of pop, then Michael Jeffrey Jordan is the MJ of the basketball. This amazing player was born on February 17, 1963 to Deloris and James R Jordan and on number four in the brood of five kids. He is one of the best professional players, America has ever had. He is jack of many trades because he is an entrepreneur, principal owner and chairman of Charlotte Horns. He played fifteen seasons in NBA for the famous teams, Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizard. He is also one of the most effectively marketed athletes in his generation and he worked hard in popularizing NBA across the world in 1980’s and 1990’s. He studied in Emsley A. Laney High School. He started his athletic career by playing baseball, basketball and football. Initially he was rejected when he applied in the varsity team of basketball because his height of 5’11 was not enough. He was undaunted and worked relentlessly and played for Laney’s junior varsity squad. When he became a senior, he was chosen to play in McDonald’s All-American Team, which marked a high point in his life. He was offered various scholarships from various universities but he accepted North Carolina’s offer and he majored in cultural geography. He was given the title of ACC Freshman of the year, when he averaged 13.4 points per game. His good scores won him a place in NCAA All-American first team in both his sophomore and junior years.
